Beef Bulgogi

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb steak
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tsp minced garlic

Instructions

  • Freeze 1 1/2 lbs steak for 2 hours.
  • Cut steak into thin strips against the grain.
    Trim fat.
  • Place steak in container.
  • Mix 1/4 cup soy sauce, 2 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp olive oil, 2 tsp rice vinegar and 2 tsp minced garlic in container.
  • Marinate for 1 – 2 hours.
    Do not over marinate.
  • Heat a skillet on medium-high heat.
  • Render fat covered for 10 – 15 minutes.
  • Add steak in batches to skillet.
  • Cook each side for 1 minutes (or less).
  • When all steak is cooked, and leftover marinade to skillet.
  • Cook on high to reduce into sauce.
  • Optional: add soy sauce, rice vinegar, cooking wine or mirin before removing from heat.
