Mayak Eggs

Ingredients

  • 12 eggs
  • 1/2 diced onion
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 stalks diced green onion
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 8 tbsp soy sauce
  • 5 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp msg

Instructions

  • Add pinch of salt and splash vinegar to water in pot.
  • Bring pot to boil.
  • Add eggs one at a time.
  • Boil eggs uncovered for 6 minutes and 30 seconds.
  • Stir eggs gently around 3 minutes and 5 minutes.
  • Place eggs in ice bath.
  • Place eggs in storage container.
  • Combine 1/2 diced onion, 3 minced garlic cloves, 2 diced green onion stalks, 1/4 cup water, 8 tbsp soy sauce, 5 tbsp honey, 2 tbsp dark soy sauce, 2 tbsp sesame seeds and 1 tsp msg.
  • Pour sauce over eggs.
  • Place paper towel over eggs before shutting lid.
  • Let soak for multiple days, ideally a week.

Notes

Mayak sauce can be used for two batches of eggs.
